Privacy, terms and data handling.
How we protect, use, and — whenever you ask — delete your family's health information.
Privacy Policy
FamiliAID is built so your family's health information stays on your device, unless you choose to export or share it. We don't have servers to store your data on: everything stays encrypted on your iPhone or iPad.
AInformation we collect
- Profile data: first name, last name, gender, height, family relationship (or a custom group you type in) and, on your own profile, an optional alias to identify your data when you share it. Date of birth is required only on your own profile — for family members it's optional, isn't used in any calculation, and is only shown as an age.
- Health readings: blood pressure, pulse, weight, BMI and body measurements (circumferences).
- Health goals you set for each profile.
None of this is collected on any server: it's stored only in your device's encrypted storage. We don't create a user account or ask for an email address to use the app.
BHow we use your information
- To show you the history and trend charts for each family profile.
- To calculate BMI, classify blood pressure, and calculate waist-to-hip (WHR) and waist-to-height (WHtR) ratios, all against standard clinical reference ranges.
- To generate PDF reports for any profile that you choose to export and share, for example with their doctor.
- Never to show you ads or build advertising profiles: FamiliAID doesn't use any advertising SDK.
CWho we share data with
No one. We don't sell, rent or transmit your health information to third parties, because there is no server of ours for it to pass through. The only data transfers that happen are the ones you start yourself, when you export and share a PDF report or a backup file using iOS's own share sheet.
DYour rights
- View, edit or delete any profile or reading from the app at any time.
- Export the history of any profile as PDF, or a full backup of your data, whenever you want and with no limit.
- Delete a profile or reset the app from Settings — doing so erases the information from your device permanently and immediately. FamiliAID doesn't keep copies anywhere else; files you exported or shared (PDF reports, backups) are your own copies and are managed outside the app.
- If you uninstall the app without resetting it, your data stays encrypted on your device and isn't deleted; Data Handling (Retention) explains how to keep or erase it.
If you live in the European Union or in a country with a similar data protection law, you can also file a complaint with your country's data protection authority.
EProfiles for minors
FamiliAID is not directed at children under 13 using it on their own, without adult supervision. When you set up your own profile, the app confirms your age range directly with your Apple Account (iOS's Declared Age Range framework) — it's not something you type in or the app infers on its own. If Apple confirms you're under 13, or if it can't be confirmed (for example, if you choose not to share your age range), setup is blocked and you're asked to have an adult complete it for you. As an additional safeguard on the same form, you're also asked for your date of birth. Profiles for other family members can only be created and managed by the responsible adult using the device, and that data never leaves it.

GChanges to this policy
If we update this policy, we change the date above. If the change is significant, we'll also let you know inside the app.
Terms & Conditions
By downloading or using FamiliAID you agree to the following terms. Take your time reading them; they summarize what you can expect from the app and what we expect from you.
AUsing the app
- FamiliAID is a health data organization and tracking tool for you and your family. It is not a medical device and does not replace the diagnosis, advice or treatment of a healthcare professional. If you have any symptoms or medical concerns, consult your doctor.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of any information you enter manually.
BProfiles and usage limits
- FamiliAID doesn't require an account, an email address, or signing in: it works fully offline from the first moment.
- You can create profiles for each member of your family; each one keeps its own measurement history.
- FamiliAID is free and includes up to 10 profiles and 50 saved readings per type on each one. There are no in-app purchases: the Beta Features program offers invitation codes you can redeem from Settings to raise those limits.
- Access to the app is protected by a 6-digit PIN and, if you turn it on in Settings → Security, by Face ID or Touch ID. You're responsible for keeping that access private.
CIntellectual property
The design, code, trademarks and content of FamiliAID belong to its creators. You may use the app for its intended purpose, but not copy, modify or distribute its content without authorization.
DLimitation of liability
FamiliAID is provided "as is". We do not guarantee the app is free of errors or that it will run without interruptions. We are not responsible for medical decisions based on information shown by the app, nor for data loss if you erase it, lose access to your device, or forget your PIN and can't get back into the app, without having exported your information first.
EChanges to these terms
If we update these terms, we change the date above. If the change is significant, we'll also let you know inside the app.
Data Handling
We want you to understand exactly how we store, protect and — whenever you ask — delete your health information. The short version: it all happens on your device, never on a server of ours.
ALocal storage
Your profiles and readings are stored exclusively on your device. There is no cloud sync and no servers of our own: there's no place outside your iPhone or iPad where your health data lives.
BEncryption
- Profiles and readings are encrypted with AES-GCM before being saved to the operating system's secure Keychain.
- The encryption key is a random 256-bit key generated on your device and stored in the Keychain; it never leaves it and isn't derived from any device identifier.
- Since we don't transmit your data to any server, in-transit encryption doesn't apply: there simply is no transit.
CDeleting data
- You can delete an individual profile, clear just one type of reading for one person, or reset the app, from Settings.
- Deletion is immediate and permanent on your device — there's no waiting period, because there are no server copies or automatic backups of ours to purge.
- If you use your own iPhone's iCloud backup, that copy is managed by you through Apple's iCloud settings, not by us.
DExport and backup
You can export any profile's history as PDF from the app and share it however you prefer (email, messaging, AirDrop). The data is yours and you can take it with you whenever you want.
You can also export a full backup — all profiles, one group, or a single person — to a file you can later import on another iPhone, either merging or replacing data. That backup can be password-protected (recommended, encrypted) or generated without one; in that case it's a plain file readable by anyone who opens it, so only share it over a secure channel.
Keep in mind that your data doesn't travel to another iPhone when you restore an iOS backup: it's tied to the device where it was created. To move it to a new phone, use Export and Import.
ERetention
Your data stays on the device until you delete it. To erase it, use Settings → Danger Zone → Factory Reset before uninstalling: uninstalling the app on its own doesn't remove it, because iOS keeps the Keychain where the encryption key is stored. If you uninstall without erasing it, your data stays encrypted on your device, and when you reinstall the app it will ask whether you want to keep it or start from scratch. If you choose to start from scratch, the previous data is permanently erased (it's the same erasure as Factory Reset). Either way you'll have to confirm first with your PIN or, if you had it turned on, Face ID or Touch ID. If you forget your PIN and Face ID isn't turned on or doesn't work, you won't be able to recover your data: there is no "forgot my PIN" and we can't recover it for you either, because we have no servers and no copy of your information. Resetting the app only erases everything and takes you back to the start.
FOn-device security
Access to FamiliAID is protected by a 6-digit PIN and, optionally, by Face ID or Touch ID, which you turn on yourself in Settings → Security; plus an auto-lock timer you control, so only you decide who sees your history and your family's. After four incorrect PIN attempts, the app makes you wait before you can try again, with longer and longer waits.
GWidgets, Lock Screen, Siri and camera
- Widgets and Live Activities: if you use them, a person's latest BMI or blood pressure is shown on the Home Screen or, with a Live Activity, on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island for an hour after you save a reading. The Lock Screen can be seen without unlocking the phone; you decide which widgets to add, and you can clear their cache from Settings → Data → Widget Cache.
- Siri and Shortcuts: if you ask by voice for your latest BMI or blood pressure, Siri processes your request under Apple's privacy policy. FamiliAID doesn't send your data to any server.
- Camera (augmented-reality measuring): iOS asks your permission to use it. Images are not saved; they are used only as a reference to locate points and calculate approximate body measurements, so the results are approximate.
